Did anyone try any new methods of grazing this year? Would love to hear some experiences. I did a mixed bag with mixed results. Had great results on my ground that had light sheep all summer and cattle in it only once for a few days, has come up trumps when the rain hit in November. It handled the heavy water for much longer than the other fields did. Interesting to see how a long rest really helps. I did let the grasses go to seed, never topped all year so maybe the mix that popped up - cocksfoot, Yorkshire fog, Timothy, even some vetch among the ryegrass - actually got a chance to deep root and help with water infiltration.
Be great to hear if anyone else has same experience or seen any difference in their soil from switching up their grazing strategy!
