This shrimp is the Rambo of the waterways. It's a hardy wee thing that can withstand a reasonable amount of most forms of pollution and enrichment. You can expect to find them in all but the most polluted of waterways. They'll be hanging out under the stones. If there is some nutrient pollution they'll actually thrive and you might find hundreds under a stone. But if the enrichment gets worse they'll disappear altogether. So some shrimp is good, lots isn't good, none is terrible. Learn more about how to check your waterways at our Water Friendly Farm Walks this week, 10th and 18th October.
