Looks great Jonny. Are you able to measure how the cattle do on those high covers? Be interesting to know DLWG. Our tall grass grazing here mainly consists of doing battle with Yorkshire fog but the FLERD of bullocks and Hoggets seem to be getting a handle on it. 2 day moves at moment.
I was considering moving my sheep into long grass with the cows. Like Will says mine is mostly steamy Yorkshire fog grass. The lower line of electric fence would just keep earthing, I’d have to strim the grass first! But I can’t seem to get them to eat enough. Worried I’m leaving too much behind me. Everyone telling me to mow it off but this is literally my last bit of grass everything else has been cut!
Not sure, but I would think it depends on many factors. Time of year, stage of the plant, what are the cows actually looking for from the forages, mineral’s etc?? Was told last week that birdsfoot trefoil was bitter to cattle, news to me i thought they ate it well 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Is there any research on what wildflowers and grasses that are most popular with cows? There is so many for them to choose from.
Is that vetch they are tucking into?
Awesome! That little calf can barely see above it 🤣. They are eating through it well
