Joel Williams is an independent plant and soil health educator providing lectures, workshops and consultation on soil management, plant nutrition and integrated approaches of sustainable food production.
He is starting an online course next week on foliar nitrogen. It does look like a deep dive and does cost £155, but if you consider the price of granular fertiliser I reckon by switching to foliar and really understanding how to get the most form it we can save this many times over.
Here is his brief description of the course:

The course is a mix of pre-recorded and live lectures with Q&A discussions. Lectures 1 and 10 (which bookend the core content of the course) are pre-recorded, while lectures 2-9 will be live, with each lecture running for approximately 40 mins with an accompanying 20 mins of question/discussion time.
What you get:
Perennial access to the 10 course lectures online (detailed outline below)
Factsheets and articles summarising key take home learnings from the course
Case studies of farmers around the world implementing foliar nitrogen strategies
Further reading – a compiled reading list of lay articles and academic papers relevant to and referenced in the course
A pdf of powerpoint slides
I used foliar N last year and saved a huge amount considering the price of granular. My plan is to gradually wean my grass of chemical fertilisers altogether but knew I couldn't go cold turkey on my system. Switching to foliar mean almost 100% uptake by the plant and much healthier for the soil, with zero run off issues. I think I made some errors in my application, I sprayed too much in the hot days for example. I hope by attending this course I will learn how to get the most bang form my buck with liquid nitrogen and learn what other ingredients can I add to the mix for my plant, soil and microbes all in one pass. I have heard him say we can add soluble seaweed, fulvic acid, epson salts etc. I think this course will be super content as this guy really knows his stuff!
If only I could get a discount for giving him such a rave review!!!!
