Yes the grass has well and truly escaped us. Fog everywhere but just about keeping a handle on the reseeds. It's like there's two weeks in the year when you need double the stock numbers and then we're looking a droughty conditions straight after where you'd want less stock. Impossible.
You have kept on top of your grass so well. I’ve had to cut pretty much everything. Only 7 acres left for 50 sheep and they do not like the long grass 🙈 first time seeing so much feet problems in the ewes.
Aye it’s hard to manage to try to be regenerative and allow grass to get a bit longer and then keep on top of it with sheep. I’m learning but far too slowly!!!
Managed to get this ryegrass clover sward ate down to 1500kg today so need for topping. Probably not great for lamb growth but sure everything in life is a compromise 🤔
Another sward with fescues in it. Sadly the palatability of the sward drops quickly due to the structure of the plant so topping will be required
